'Holly & The Holiday Spirits'

Our theatre company, 'Broadway Bound' did it's first big production in December, 2009. The story takes place in a school (High School/Middle School ...Okay,it really doesn't matter) The school is getting ready for the annual show they do every holiday season. Holly, one of the students who has a beautiful singing voice, always gets the "big lead" in the holiday show. However, her teacher and friends can't help but notice that little by little over the years Holly has become conceited, snobby and generally impossible to be around. The attention has gone "right to her head"

In the hope of Holly remembering the true meaning of the holiday season...(love, sharing, giving)the teacher gives the lead to Holly's friend Joy and puts Holly in the chorus, believing that this will help Holly reconnect with her friends.

When Holly hears of this she is livid and decides that if she can't be the lead, then she would rather not be in the show at all. She leaves the classroom and is told to go to study hall. She never makes it. She is confronted by 3 ghosts instead...Is this starting to sound familiar? Well, ya, I kind of stole the story from Charles Dickens...But, I modernized it and put it all to fun, original music...(mostly) Check out some of our music, pics and videos. (These pics are from a rehearsal and were taken with my little pink camera. If anyone in the cast, crew or the audience has good quality photos...PLEASE let me know!!!)

Opening number

This is a bunch of standard, public domain holiday songs, performed by the cast. The arrangement is original.

I wanna go home (right now) Holly's song

Written by "me" and sung by Kayla Nettles, this song takes place after Holly is visited by the ghosts and finally realizes what she has done to her life. She dreams of a second chance.

It was always you.

Written and sung by me (in the studio not in the show) this is the song that the ghost from the future sings to Holly when she accuses the ghost of tricking her with magic.

I break too easily

Quinn Gorte plays the "over emotional" ghost in this original number

Joy of the season

This is our original finale song and is sung by Grace Bates and the rest of the cast.

VIDEO

This is Dominique Dy who plays Star in our show. This is not an original song. In the show this song is sung while Holly is "visiting the past"
