About me...
My love affair with the performing arts started in New York City at 5 years of age, when I saw my first Broadway musical. It's a love that has only grown stronger and stronger with age and shows no signs of diminishing.
I have spent my life thus far in as many different aspects of the entertainment business as possible.. I've been a student of theatre, voice, piano & guitar., a performer,a teacher, director, composer, (I even wrote a play...a musical based on the famous "Scrooge" story) I have worked on radio and television shows, commercials, films, music videos, and had many long nights with clients in various "Music City" recording studios.
Throughout all of this, I have been an observer. I believe the secret to making it in this business of show is not luck or even skill or talent....The secret to "making it" is quite simple in fact, it isn't a secret at all. It's all about having passion and a plan. It's about replacing doubt with a sincere belief in where and who you are meant to be.
Performers seem to face an extra amount of rejection and judgement which can give anyone's confidence a run for the money. This makes it even more important to believe this and it should become effortless and automatic. Then, no amount of rejection or negativity is going to shake you. Although simple, so many things can stand in the way of having our dreams come true, making it anything but "simple" . Most people don't even realize how they are dooming themselves to failure (Failure as society sees it. There really isn't any failure when chasing your dreams) until it is pointed out for them. Just as so many well meaning parents are creating obstacles for their talented children."
This is the most competitive business in the world. But, anyone can get an edge on the competition. If you want it enough, train hard and get the mindset needed. I've seen it happen time and time again and now I have such a strong desire to assist people in removing these obstacles and have the life they deserve and maybe only dared to dream of. My goal is to help others avoid the pitfalls that so many find themselves in over and over and to enjoy the journey they are on. So, now as a certified Life "empowerment" Coach, I work with individuals, groups and families to achieve their goals in the world of the arts and the world in general.
AND...For the record...
I firmly believe whoever makes the most money, sings the best, can hit the highest note, is the best looking (you get the point) is of little importance in the "big picture" However, following a dream or a calling is absolutely one of the most important things we can do.
